Using only a hammer and chisel, Dashrath Manjhi, a landless farmer, carved a path through a mountain in the Gehlour Hills, Bihar just so that his village could have easier access to medical facilities. Directed by Ketan Mehta, Manjhi - The Mountain Man, is an upcoming documentary on the life of this man.

• The villagers had to travel 70 kilometres to reach to the nearest town to get medical attention

• In the year 1959, Dashrath Manjhi's wife Falguni Devi died from lack of medical care

• In the memory of his wife, he carved the path in the Gehlour hills so that his village could have easier access to medical attention

• He worked day and night for 22 years and broke down the hill

• The path is 360 foot long and 25 foot deep.

• He shortened the distance from 70 kilometres to just one kilometre

• He worked from 1960 to 1982

• For his achievement, Manjhi became popularly known as the 'Mountain Man'

• He died on August 17, 2007 at the age of 73, while suffering from gall bladder cancer

• To honour his achievements, a hospital in his name is also proposed for serving the villagers

• He was called the poor man's Shah Jahan by filmmaker Ketan Mehta who has also made a documentary on his life

• His name was also proposed by the Bihar government for the Padma Shri award in 2006

• When a movie on his life was announced, Manjhi was on his deathbed. He put his thumb impression on an agreement and gave away "exclusive rights" to make a film on his life

• The mountain man was given a state funeral by the Government of Bihar.

1. The Dirty Picture

If a movie releases with an 'A' certificate in India, chances are high the same movie might not see the light of the day in Pakistan, ever. So when Vidya Balan portrayed Indian sex siren Silk Smitha in The Dirty Picture, it was too much to handle for the Pakistani censor board and the movie was outrightly termed bold and vulgar and got banned in Pakistan

2. Tere Bin Laden

This time around, Pakistan banned a Bollywood movie starring their own export to India, singer-actor Ali Zafar. Tere Bin Laden was banned in Pakistan because it dealt with the controversial issue of slain Al-Qaeda head Osama Bin Laden and hit them where it hurts the most.

The light-hearted movie was accused of containing vulgar and objectionable dialogues, abuses and derogatory remarks and was also labelled as anti-law enforcing agencies of Pakistan. The censor board in Pakistan felt that the movie could give extremists a false idea and could lead to riots and attacks, hence the movie was banned in Pakistan.

3. Khiladi 786

Akshay Kumar may be the undisputed Khiladi of Bollywood but Pakistan wouldn't buy his Khiladiofferings, especially if presented with number '786'. So when Khiladi 786's poster was launched in Pakistan, it immediately led to the banning of the film because of the religious significance of numerals '786' among Muslims. Considered very sacred to Islam, the usage of the number in a comedy film was deemed to be hurtful for Islamic sentiments and therefore led to a ban on the promo and eventually the complete film got scrapped in Pakistan.

4. Jab Tak Hai Jaan

Jab Tak Hai Jaan saw Shah Rukh Khan play an army officer in the Indian Army’s bomb disposal squad. And where there is Indian army in a Bollywood movie, trouble is not far away in Pakistan. The Yash Chopra film was snapped off in Pakistan as soon as the trailers hit the TV screens. The movie got banned owing to certain dialogues which hinted at the Pak army. However, it took Yash Chopra to use some clout to finally make his movie see the light of day in Pakistan.

5. Chennai Express 

Shah Rukh Khan might rule the hearts of people in the kingdom across the border, but that didn't stop distributors and exhibitors in Pakistan from banning his latest train ride, Chennai Express to halt at any station in Pakistan. Shah Rukh's movie was scheduled to release on the festival of Eid along with 4 Pakistani films - Josh, Ishq Khuda, War and Mera Naam Afridi. However, keeping the interest of Lollywood in mind, the movie was banned from releasing on Eid and was scheduled for a different date of release.

Nishikant Dubey - 'Gabbar Is Back' Movie Review Roundup

In the film, Akshay plays the role of Gabbar, who hunts the corrupt and seeks justice for people. Directed by Krish, the film also features Kareena Kapoor Khan in important role.

Talking about critics' review, the film has failed to impress them with its storyline. Akshay and Shruti have given their best in the lead actors' performances, but the weak storyline and dialogues makes it an average entertainer.

1. Welcome Back

Welcome: After the success of Welcome (2007), director Anees Bazmee is all set to direct the film's sequel, Welcome Back. While the original starred Akshay Kumar, Anil Kapoor, Nana Patekar, Katrina Kaif, Paresh Rawal, Mallika Sherawat and Feroz Khan,Welcome Back will also be a multi-starrer with a stellar star cast that includes the likes of John Abraham, Anil Kapoor, Nana Patekar, Dimple Kapadia and Shruti Haasan, to name a few. Welcome Back is slated for a January 23 release.

2. Don 3

Don: When the Shah Rukh Khan-starrer Don 2 hit theatres in 2011, the film’s director Farhan Akhtar told a section of the media, “I need a break from action films. As a director, it’s my right to explore different things.” Three years after that dismissal, Farhan is returning to direction and the genre with the third part of the Don franchise. And SRK will again lead the cast. 

3. Mardaani 2

Mardaani: According to a report in Mid-day, last year's release Mardaani might soon have a sequel. The YRF film dealt with the sensitive issue of child trafficking. Apparently YRF's head honcho, Aditya Chopra has asked the film's director, Pradeep Sarkar to script a sequel to the film. A source has been quoted in the report as saying that Sarkar had earlier narrated a story but the makers didn't find it worthy of a sequel and hence are waiting to get the right script for their film. The story also has the potential to turn into a full-fledged franchise with Rani's character dealing with issues, one at a time. 

4. ABCD 2

The poster of ABCD 2 has apparently been leaked online and the development has miffed the film's lead actor, Varun Dhawan. After learning of the reported leak, Varun and Shraddha took to Twitter to post the official poster of the film. An irate Varun, however, didn't stop at just that. He strongly condemned the act of leaking the poster online and ruining the planned launch.
